Sean Connery was born on 25 august 1930 in Scotland. He joined the navy in his teens but due to stomach ulcers, he was discharged. He had done so many jobs before he discovered his acting skill. Connery started as a stage actor and did some small television roles before moving into movies.

Sean Connery was best known for James Bond but he appeared in several successful movies in his career such as highlander, the untouchables, the hunt for red October, and the league of extraordinary gentlemen.

1. Sean Connery worked as a nude model before becoming an actor

Connery had a wide range of jobs before jumping into an acting career, he started as a milkman when he was a teenager after leaving the navy he also employed as a lifeguard, a taxi driver, but his most interesting job was a nude model for art students where he earned 40$ per hour at today's valuation.

Connery shattered records in the movies when he agreed to come back as James Bond in 1971 movie diamonds are forever, and his base salary was 1.2 million dollars plus 12.5 per cent of net US profits totalling 6.7 million dollars which would have been close to 40 million dollars at today’s valuation.

This was completely unheard of that time and made the Guinness world records for highest payday for an actor in history, Connery ended up donating his entire salary to his foundation.

3. Sean Connery turned down an opportunity to become a professional soccer player

While growing up  Sean Connery Was very passionate about playing soccer when Connery was 23 years old he was playing a soccer match on a tour with south pacific, he was unaware there was a scout for Manchester united in the stands and the scouts were very impressed with Connery’s soccer skills.

He offered him 25 pound per week contract on the spot, if he agrees to sign with a team, Connery considered it but thought he could have a long career if he stuck with acting, he later called one of his intelligent decision he ever made.

4. James bond author Ian Fleming was not pleased about Connery playing bond

Connery remains an unknown actor until he was cast in a life-changing role of James bond, Connery impressed the producers so much with his talent and charisma and they decided right there to cast him, the author of James bond Ian Fleming was not pleased though because he didn’t Connery was right for this role, he wanted Cary grant instead, but Connery changed his mind with his excellent performance.

5. Connery was the richest British actor

Sean Connery had a network of more than 350 million dollars which placed him at the top of the list of the richest British actors.
